Seacoast National Bank welcomes new Community Board members

Seacoast National Bank is pleased to announce that Arden Doss, Jr., Marc Gaylord, Torbin R. ¿Toby¿ Overdorf, John O¿Brien, Kevin Powers, and Lorenzo Williams have been appointed to the bank¿s Martin County Community Board.

Arden Doss is the president of Renar Fine Homes located in Jensen Beach. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School. Doss is a member of the Florida Bar Association and is active with the Unity Church in Jensen Beach. He has been a resident of Martin County for 10 years.

Marc Gaylord is a private practicing attorney in Martin County. He earned a BS in finance from the University of Florida, Gainsville and is a graduate of the J.D. California Western School of Law, San Diego. His professional memberships included the Florida Bar Association, American Bar Association, Attorney¿s Title Insurance Fund and Fidelity Title. He is also actively involved with the Hobe Sound Chamber of Commerce, Hobe Sound Community Chest, Hobe Sound Child Care Center, Apollo School Foundation and the Education Foundation of Martin County.

Toby Overdorf is president and founder of Crossroads Environmental Consultants, Inc., a full-service environmental consulting firm based in Palm City. Overdorf earned both a MBA and a MS in biology from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton. He is also a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, NY where he earned a BS degree in biology. Overdorf is member of the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals and the National Association of Environmental Professionals. He is past president of the Palm City Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Martin County Business Development Board and the Martin County Economic Council.

John O¿Brien owns and operates Gulf Stream Aluminum and Shutter Corporation, a family owned manufacturer of storm shutters and home improvement products based in Stuart. He is vice president of the American Shutter Association, a member of the International Hurricane Protection Association and the Treasure Coast Builders Association. O¿Brien sits on the boards for United Way of Martin County, Character Counts and is president for the Martin County VCRC and has served as chairman for the White Doves project for the last six years. He has been a resident of Martin County for 28 years.

Kevin Powers is a Florida native, born and raised in Indiantown where he is an associate, principle for Indiantown Realty Corporation. Powers earned a BA in economics from Florida State University, Tallahassee. He is a member of the Martin County Board of Realtors, a board member for the Martin County Tax Payers Association and the Martin County Chamber of Commerce. He is active with the United Way of Martin County and holds volunteer positions on the board of directors and with the foundation.

Lorenzo Williams has spent nearly 30 years as a civil trial lawyer and partner in the Law Firm of Gary, Williams, Finney, Lewis, Watson and Sperando, P.L. Williams earned his law degree in 1977 from Willamette University School of Law in Salem, Oregon. He has numerous professional memberships including the Florida Bar Association, Martin County Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He also serves on the Board of Trustees for Shaw University and Meharry Medical College. Williams is a member of the Florida Highway Patrol Advisory Committee, National Public Radio¿s President¿s Council and is a life member of the NAACP. Over the years he has received many honors and accolades including the Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers Golden Eagle Award.
